V 1.3 FOR HIDDEN-STREET ONLY! Contents: 1: Why be a hunter? -1a: What is FA? -1b: Final Attack FAQ. -1c: How do I make a hunter? 2: 1st Job Skills. -2a: 1st Job Archer Skill Build. 3: 2nd Job. -3a: 2nd Job Hunter Skills. -3b: 2nd Job Xbowman Skills. -3c: 2nd Job Hunter Skill Build. -3d: 2nd job Xbowman Skill Build. 4: Stats. -4a: Hunter Stat Build. -4b: Xbowman Stat Build 5: Training questions. -5a: Training Guides. -5b: Training Needs 6: Other Info. PART 1: Why be a hunter? ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Well, to that I say, why not? But If, 'why not' isn't good enough for you, then read this: Hunters are a long-ranged job, meaning they have great distance. Their damage is okay, but thier attack speed is great. Long Range + Okay Damage + Uber Speed = Awesomeness! People will say that hunters suck. Mainly because at the first 20 levels of the game, they do! And suck is equal to boring. So it's boring all the time! Not exactly. They're boring the first 20 levels. So people quit thier hunters before even experiancing the fun part! Which is why this guide is here. To take boring out of huntering. Another thing people say: "Sins are better than hunters." This is explained above. They don't know about hunters! Another reason for you to create one! Show everybody that they're wrong! Make hunters good! Really in my opinion, there is no best job. There is no worst job. Except for intellegence thieves. PART 1a: What is FA? ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ FA stands for Final Attack, which is a skill that activates a swift shot right after a skill. It uses no MP and is passive. It won't activate if you jump shoot. Skill level 1: Activates 2% of the time, does 105% damage. Skill level 15: Activates 30% of the time, does 180% damage. Skill level 30: Activates 60% of the time, does 260% damage. PART 1b: Final Attack FAQ: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ People say that FA is bad because it can waste time. ~It wastes 0.5 seconds. But I think we can all get over that. Final Attack is bad because it can anger a monster that you don't want to fight, or that has a magic attack. ~Why would you even be training on monsters you don't want to fight? Plus, if there were monsters like that in the screen, you'd be careful enough to snipe out of magic's range. Alot of people don't like FA hunters. ~Alot of people are idiots. Is FA training for hunters the same as FA training for Xbowmen? ~I think so, I've had experiance with both, and they're relativly close training. But the skill is the same for both jobs. PART 1c: How do I make a hunter? ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Making a Hunter requires to be at least level 10 and to have 25 dex or more. To make the job advancement, go to Victoria island (at level 9 with 80% exp or above) and complete Olaf's quiz. Ask for the quest to become a bowman. Get to Henesys any way possible. I suggest taking the taxi. Go to Henesys Park and go almost all the way to the right. Enter the tree house and talk to Athena Pierce. Grats! You're now a bowman! PART 2: 1st Job Skills. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ There are alot of builds out there. However, alot of them aren't for hunters, and not many are guides to FA. There are skills that you should use, and skills you shouldn't. Telling the difference is hard, and many people say different things. I'm gonna be another of those people who think the following. Blessing of the Amazon: Requires: Nothing. Lv 1: Plus 1 accuracy. Lv 8: Plus 8 accuracy. Lv 16: Plus 16 accuracy. Blessing of the Amazon is a passive that increase accuracy. I would raise this skill. But only put 3 points into it so you can raise Eye of the Amazon. Eye of the Amazon: Requires: The Blessing of the Amazon Lv 3. Lv 1: +15 Range of attack. Lv 8: +120 Range of attack. This is most likely the single most important skill an archer can have. It increases the range of your weapon. This skill is what makes archers, archers. MAX THIS SKILL. Critical Shot: Requires: Nothing. Lv 1: 12% chance of activating. Critical damage 105%. Lv 10: 30% chance of activating. Critical damage 150%. Lv 20: 40% chance of activating. Critical damage 200%. This is another needed Hunter skill. It's passive, and it increases damage. Raise this skill, and get it maxed. Focus: Requires: The Blessing of the Amazon Lv 3. Lv 1: -8 MP. +1 Accuracy and Avoidability for 70 seconds. Lv 10: -8 MP. +10 Accuracy and Avoidability for 170 seconds. Lv 20: -16 MP. +20 Accuracy and Avoidability for 300 seconds. This skill is pretty much Blessing of the Amazon only it increases avoidability too, and it's a buff. It's important, but not the most important. Arrow Blow: Requires: Nothing. Lv 1: MP -6 Damage 141% Lv 10: MP -9 Damage 195% Lv 20: MP -14 Damage 260% This skill is a single arrow attack that does a good amount of damage. It's strong enough to be a main attack at level 1 until you raise DS. Double Shot: Requires: Arrow Blow Lv 1. Lv 1: MP -8 76% damage x2. Lv 10: MP -11 100% damage x2. Lv 20: MP -16 130% damage x2. This skill is like shoooting arrow blow, only two hit rather than 1. Same damage, more MP, but a higher chance of getting a critical. PART 2a: 1st Job Skill Build ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ This is my personal view on raising skills at 1st job. You can raise them differently, but make sure the same skills are maxed. ##: Skill Name (# of skill) Lv 10 +1 AB (1) Lv 11 +3 Blessing of Amazon (3) Lv 12 +3 Eye of Amazon (3) Lv 13 +3 Eye of Amazon (6) Lv 14 +2 Eye of Amazon (MAXED) +1 Critical (1) Lv 15 +3 Critical (4) Lv 16 +3 Critical (7) Lv 17 +3 Critical (10) Lv 18 +3 Critical (13) Lv 19 +3 Critical (16) Lv 20 +3 Critical (19) Lv 21 +1 Critical (MAXED) +2 Double Shot (2) Lv 22 +3 DS (5) Lv 23 +3 DS (8) Lv 24 +3 DS (11) Lv 25 +3 DS (14) Lv 26 +3 DS (17) Lv 27 +3 DS (MAXED) Lv 28 +3 Focus (3) Lv 29 +3 Focus (6) Lv 30 +3 Focus (9) But some people prefer to raise thier skills a little differently. They think focus wastes MP. But that's only if you're poor. Seeing as most people are poor at that level, It seems like a better idea. But once you reach the 40's money isn't a problem usually. Lv 10 +1 AB (1) Lv 11 +3 Blessing of Amazon (3) Lv 12 +3 Eye of Amazon (3) Lv 13 +3 Eye of Amazon (6) Lv 14 +2 Eye of Amazon (MAXED) +1 Critical (1) Lv 15 +3 Critical (4) Lv 16 +3 Critical (7) Lv 17 +3 Critical (10) Lv 18 +3 Critical (13) Lv 19 +3 Critical (16) Lv 20 +3 Critical (19) Lv 21 +1 Critical (MAXED) +2 Double Shot (2) Lv 22 +3 DS (5) Lv 23 +3 DS (8) Lv 24 +3 DS (11) Lv 25 +3 DS (14) Lv 26 +3 DS (17) Lv 27 +3 DS (MAXED) Lv 28 +3 Blessing (6) Lv 29 +3 Blessing (9) Lv 30 +3 Blessing (12) Part 3a: 2nd Job Hunter Skills ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ These are the skills at 2nd job for hunters. Bow Mastery: Requires: Nothing. Lv 1: +15% Bow mastery +1 Acc. Lv 10: +35% Bow mastery +10 Acc. Lv 20: +60% Bow mastery +20 Acc. This is the most important 2nd job skill you can have. It increases minimum damage. It's passive, and it increases accuracy. It also allows you to use different skills. Final Attack; Bow: Requires: Bow mastery Lv 3. Lv 1: 2% Chance of activation. 105% damage. Lv 15: 30% Chance of activation. 175% damage. Lv 30: 60% Chance of activation. 250% damage. This is FA, what this guide is centered around. It gives you that extra damage which is so helpful. Definatly raise this. Bow Booster: Requires: Bow Mastery level 5. Lv 1: Increases attacking speed for 10 seconds. -29 HP and MP. Lv 10: Increases attacking speed for 100 seconds. -20 HP and MP. Lv 20: Increases attacking speed for 200 seconds. -10 HP and MP. This skill is really great, but I wouldn't use it until it's at at least level 5 or 6. Increases attacking speed. Soul Arrow: Requires: Bow Booster Lv 5. Lv 1: -15 MP. Attack without using up arrows for 30 seconds. Lv 10: -15 MP. Attack without using up arrows for 300 seconds. Lv 20: -20 MP. Attack without using up arrows for 600 seconds. This skill saves alot of room in your use INV. Note: when you raise this skill, don't drop all your arrows. There's a funny story behind that that involves me, alishar, and a dead cleric. Power Knock-Back: Requires: Nothing. Lv 1: -8 MP, 105% damage, KB+2, Hits 2 enemies. Lv 10: -8 MP, 150% damage, KB+20, Hits 3 enemies. Lv 20: -15 MP, 200% damage, KB+40, Hits 6 enemies. This is the skill that we sacrifice in order to raise FA. It sounds good, but it's hitting with your bow, and is 200% of your bowsmack damage. Arrow Bomb: Requires: Nothing. Lv 1: -14 MP, 72% damage, stuns 31%. Lv 15: -14 MP, 100% damage, stuns 45%. Lv 30: -28 MP, 130% damage, stuns 60%. This is a great skill. Raise it. It hits multiple monsters, and can stun them. Part 3b: Xbowman Skills ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ XBow Mastery: Requires: Nothing. Final Attack; XBow: Requires: Bow mastery Lv 3. XBow Booster: Requires: Bow Mastery level 5. Iron Arrow: Requires: Nothing. Lv 1: -14 MP, 64% damage. Lv 15: -14 MP, 120% damage. Lv 30: -28 MP, 180% damage. This is a great skill. Raise it. It hits multiple monsters. PART 3c: 2nd job skill build. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ This is one of my personal views on raising your skills as an FA Hunter. DEX: This is the main stat for archers. It controls Maximum damage. It also raises accuracy and avoidability. Str: This stat increases minimum damage and allows you to equips stronger weapons. It helps to determine bowsmack damage. Int: This stats increases damage with magic, which archers don't use, and increases magic resistence. It's not important, so try to roll a 4 or 5 on this. Luk: This increases alot of things, such as avoidability, and amount of exp saved when you die. It's not important for hunters, so try to roll a 4 or 5 on it. PART 4a: Stat build. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ These are the stats you're supposed to raise as a hunter. There are 2 ways to raise them. The easy way, and the hard way. Levels 1-10 are hard to determine exactly, but you should try to get your dex to as high as you can, and your str to your level+5. So at level 10 you should have 15 str. Your dex should be 50 (supposing you rolled 5 on int and luk.) Here's the easy way. Lv 10 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 11 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 12 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 13 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 14 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 15 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 16 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 17 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 18 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 19 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 20 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 21 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 22 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 23 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 42 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 43 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 44 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 45 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 46 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 47 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 48 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 49 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 50 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 51 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 52 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 53 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 54 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 55 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 56 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 57 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 58 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 59 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 60 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 61 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 62 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 63 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 64 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 65 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 66 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 67 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 68 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 69 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 70 +1 Str +4 Dex. *Pant pant* As you should see, this means raise 1 str, 4 dex. This is easy to remember. Now for the hard way. This way is slightly better, but in the end they all end up the same. The first 10 levels are the same as the first 10 of the last build. Lv 10 +5 Dex. Lv 11 +5 Dex. Lv 12 +5 Dex. Lv 13 +5 Dex. Lv 14 +5 Dex. Lv 15 +5 Str. Lv 16 +5 Dex. Lv 17 +5 Dex. Lv 18 +5 Dex. Lv 19 +5 Dex. Lv 20 +5 Str. Lv 21 +5 Dex. Lv 22 +5 Dex. Lv 23 +5 Dex. Lv 24 +5 Dex. Lv 25 +5 Str. Lv 26 +5 Dex. Lv 27 +5 Dex. Lv 28 +5 Dex. Lv 29 +5 Dex. Lv 30 +5 Str. Lv 31 +5 Dex. Lv 32 +5 Dex. Lv 33 +5 Dex. Lv 34 +5 Dex. Lv 35 +5 Str. Lv 36 +5 Dex. Lv 37 +5 Dex. Lv 38 +5 Dex. Lv 39 +5 Dex. Lv 40 +5 Str. Lv 41 +5 Dex. Lv 42 +5 Dex. Lv 43 +5 Dex. Lv 44 +5 Dex. Lv 45 +5 Dex. Lv 46 +5 Dex. Lv 47 +5 Dex. Lv 48 +5 Dex. Lv 49 +5 Str. Lv 50 +5 Str. Lv 51 +5 Dex. Lv 52 +5 Dex. Lv 53 +5 Dex. Lv 54 +5 Dex. Lv 55 +5 Dex. Lv 56 +5 Dex. Lv 57 +5 Dex. Lv 58 +5 Dex. Lv 59 +5 Str. Lv 60 +5 Str. Lv 61 +5 Dex. Lv 62 +5 Dex. Lv 63 +5 Dex. Lv 64 +5 Dex. Lv 65 +5 Dex. Lv 66 +5 Dex. Lv 67 +5 Dex. Lv 68 +5 Dex. Lv 69 +5 Str. Lv 70 +5 Str. *Pant Pant* *Die* Okay there's the harder way. It raises all dex until the level where you actually need Str. In fact, I'm sure hunters wouldn't raise Str at all if they didn't need it for thier equips. You may wonder why it changes after level 40. This is because there aren't any level 45, 55, or 65 bows that require str. So you raise only dex for 8 levels and raise str for 2 levels. I suggest this build over the easy one. Part 4b: Xbowman Stat Build. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ And of course, the stat build for Xbowmen. Levels 1-10 are hard to determine exactly, but you should try to get your dex to as high as you can, and your str to your level. So at level 10 you should have 10 str. Your dex should be 55 (supposing you rolled 5 on int and luk.) Here's the easy way. Lv 10 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 11 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 12 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 13 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 14 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 15 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 16 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 17 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 18 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 19 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 20 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 21 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 22 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 23 +1 Str +4 Dex. Lv 70 +5 Str. *Pant Pant* *Die* Okay there's the harder way. It raises all dex until the level where you actually need Str. In fact, I'm sure Xbowmen wouldn't raise Str at all if they didn't need it for thier equips. You may wonder why it changes after level 38. This is because there aren't any level 43, 53, or 63 xbows that require str. So you raise only dex for 8 levels and raise str for 2 levels. I suggest this build over the easy one. PART 5: Training Questions. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ This is all really great!~ I can't wait to level up! Wait... how do I do that? It's simple, training. But if you want to level fast, then here are a few tips. -Use a melee weapon until level 14, when you have maxed Eye of the Amazon. It isn't worth shooting an arrow if it gets no distance. -Try to train with people, if you can find a good party. Alot of people will leech off you without you knowing. -If you start to get KSed by a higher level, ask them not to KS, and if they ignore you, then report them for harrasment and cc. -Your hunter will problably get poor quick at the beggining of the game. (Levels 10-40) Make sure you fund yourself. -Don't KS people unless you're in a KS war. If you're in a map and someone comes in, don't KS, party invite them. -Once again, parties are important. You can problably storm through levels 10-25 in a night with an active party of people your level. -Jump casting can really help. It lets you move an attack at the same time. It's done by hitting jump and shoot at the same time. PART 5a: Training Guides. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Here's where I think raises the most conflict. Training areas. This is what people normally think. Levels 1-2 Training camp. Levels 2-6 Snails. Levels 6-9 Quests on Maple Island. Levels 10-15 Snails. Levels 15-20 Slimes. Levels 20-24 Pigs. Levels 25-30 Green and Horned Mushies or KPQ. Levels 31-37 Wild boars/Fire boars or CPQ. Levels 38-45 Curse eyes or CPQ. Levels 46-50 CPQ or Stone Golems. Levels 50-63 GOPQ or LMPQ or Stone Golems. Levels 63-70 GOPQ or LMPQ or Voodood/Hoodoos. This may seem reasonable, training on monsters you 1-2 hit every time. But only one problem: IT IS SO BORING! This is why people quit thier hunters, sheer boredom. This is why I created a renegade guide to hunters. It's slower training, but at least it's bearable. Levels 1-2 Training camp. Levels 2-6 Snails. Levels 6-9 Quests on Maple Island. Levels 10-15 Training quests or HPQ. Levels 15-20 Pig beach or HPQ. Levels 20-25 Green and Horned Mushies or KPQ. Levels 25-32 Excavation site or KPQ. Levels 32-36 CPQ or Brown teddies. Levels 37-42 CPQ or Chronos. Levels 43-49 CPQ or Platoon Chronos. Levels 50-57 LMPQ, GOPQ, or Stone Golems. Levels 58-65 LMPQ, GOPQ, or Dark Stone Golems. Levels 66-70 Mix Golems, LMPQ, GOPQ, or Voodoos/Hoodoos. This way, training is harder, which makes it fun! If you raise your hunter right, this shouldn't be a problem. It is slower than the other training, but you'll enjoy your hunter more. Helpful hint: A good way to train from levels 40-50 Find a cleric. Go to Lost time 1. Tell the cleric to get a mob on the bottom platform, while you kill monsters on the top. If the cleric is below level 35, then when the mob is big enough, they'll tell you to come down and kill the mob. This is about 0.5% exp every mob, which takes about a minute. PART 5b: Training needs. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ If you want to train fast you'll need to be fast. Being fast without haste is easy. Well, not really. First, get a bow that increases speed. i.e. Maple Soul Searcher (107) or (110) Then, get a ton of speed pills. (117) or (120) Then get white bottom shoes, and scroll them for speed 5 times. (125) or (128) Then try to get an Icarus (2) cape. (135) or (138) At level 70, You WILL have a +10 speed bow. (138) Maybe use 2 60% shoe scrolls and 3 100%'s? (140) Another more expensive idea, is to get a mount. (150) PART 6: Other Info. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ UPDATES: V1.1 Added skills and stats for Xbowmen. You no longer raise your Str to you level+5, but rather your level+5. V1.2 Great new training forms. v1.3 New PQ's added. Mew training areas. This Guide was created by me, DajnCanik.
