Beginner's Job paths V o.1 Hi, this my first guide. This guide is basically on the job you want to choose with explaination. Touching on Beginner -> 1st Job -> 2nd Job ~~~~~~~~~~~ | Content | ~~~~~~~~~~~ 0.0 Introduction 1.0 Starting on Maplestory 2.0 1st Job ~2.1 Warrior ~2.2 Bowman ~2.3 Mage ~2.4 Thief 3.0 Tips on choosing Class 4.0 Credits and Disclaimer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | Introduction | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This guide is for people who are new but knows the basics and controls of Maplestory, even if you don't, do not worry, the controls will be taught in the game . Once you have made an account, make your character and you will start playing on 'Maple island' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | Starting on Maplestory | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What is 'Maple island'? It is a place in Maplestory where everyone start out, and I mean EVERYONE ! Now you can explore the Maple Island. Try doing all the quest in Maple Island as they give reasonable experience for a beginner and some equipments for you starting the game. The beginner's skills are somehow not useful for a 1st job advancer as the time between the skills are long, the damage is low and MP savvy. MP is used in the game for using of skills whereas HP is the life of the character and can be used for skills by some classes but it is not common. They can be refilled by using potions that can be hunted by monsters and bought in potion shops. *Careful not to overshoot the level requirement for a mage when you are in Maple island. ~~~~~~~~~~~ | 1st Job | ~~~~~~~~~~~ The level requirement for a and stats requirement is Warrior is Level 10 35 Strength Bowman is Level 10 25 Dex Mage is Level 8 20 Int Thief is Level 10 25 Dex ~~~~~~~~~~~ | Warrior | ~~~~~~~~~~~ Where you will have the most of HP of all classes and the 1st advancement class that only have 'Area attack'.Also the Most choice of weapons that you can use Warriors, always at the frontlines at Bosses. Despite having the lowest ACC, Warriors deal the highest MAX damage when not using MP and also the highest MAX damage when using MP. Sounds powerful eh? However, the amount of damage between MAX and MIN is very large and always will cause damage to be unstable, but tactics can come in when you use 'Slash blast'. Slash blast? Okay, skill build! AP = Always ~ DEX twice your level The rest of the points available onto STR *Forget about adding to INT or LUK, they affect Warriors very little.* Skill Build : Lvl 10 +1 Power Strike Lvl 11 +3 Slash Blast Lvl 12 +3 Hp Recovery Lvl 13 +2 Hp Recovery +1 MaxHp Lvl 14 +2 MaxHp +1 Slash Blast Lvl 15 +2 MaxHP +1 Slash Blast Lvl 16 +1 MaxHp +2 Slash Blast Lvl 17 +3 MaxHp Lvl 18 +1 MaxHP(MAXED) +2 Slash Blast Lvl 19 +3 Power Strike Lvl 20 +3 Power Strike Lvl 21 +3 Power Strike Lvl 22 +1 Power Strike +2 Slash Blast Lvl 23 +3 Power Strike Lvl 24 +3 Power Strike Lvl 25 +3 Power Strike(MAXED) Lvl 26 +3 Endure Lvl 27 +3 Endure Lvl 28 +3 Slash Blast Lvl 29 +3 Slash Blast Lvl 30 +3 Slash Blast(MAXED) Hmm, this is the fastest way to level and not forgeting 'MaxHp'. ~~~~~~~~~~ | Bowman | ~~~~~~~~~~ 1st advancement class the have critical shot. Have more HP than Mages and Thief , more MP than Warriors and Thieves. Got the longest attacking range. Bowman, different from Warriors as they have to stand a distance from a monster to fire arrows. If get too close, they will slap the monster with their bow/ crossbow which does very little damage on 1st advancement. However, there is a skill in 2nd advancement which can hit monsters using their bow/crossbow,attack up to 6 monster but i will touch on that later. Bowmans hardly misses because of the high ACC they have. Increasing even further with 'Focus' that can be casted anytime when acquired that skill. Focus eh? Skill building time! AP = Always ~ STR amount same as level The rest of AP into DEX *LUK and INT are definitely NONOs!* Skill Build : Level 10: +1 Arrow Blow Level 11: +3 The Blessing of Amazon Level 12: +3 The Eye of Amazon Level 13: +3 The Eye of Amazon Level 14: +2 The Eye of Amazon(MAXED) +1 Critical Shot Level 15: +3 Critical Shot Level 16: +3 Double Shot Level 17: +3 Critical Shot Level 18: +3 Critical Shot Level 19: +3 Critical Shot Level 20: +3 Critical Shot Level 21: +3 Critical Shot Level 22: +1 Critical Shot(MAXED) +2 Double Shot Level 23: +3 Double Shot Level 24: +3 Double Shot Level 25: +3 Double Shot Level 26: +3 Double Shot Level 27: +3 Double Shot(MAXED) Level 28: +3 Focus Level 29: +3 Focus Level 30: +3 Focus Hehe, what I did was getting the long range first and then go onto damaging. Notice the i have my 'Critical Shot' to 4 first before adding 'Double Shot'. That is for an instant boost of damage seeing from level 10 to level 15. Not a boost on level 16 because Double Shot is very much weaker than 'Arrow Blow' on the earlier stages but Double Shot is needed on later levels as the chances of Critical Shot increases when you shoot arrow 2 times. ~~~~~~~~ | Mage | ~~~~~~~~ 1st advancement class that uses the most MP. Having the lowest HP among all the other Classes but highest MP. Mages, having the most stable damage of all the Classes as only them uses magic. They are very useful against bosses at lower levels (normally PQ) as they do not need ACC to hit .Although they are huge MP consumers, their MP regeneration are much more. You may think, since they have very tiny HP, how can they even survive Bosses? Hmm, that is a call for their skill, 'Magic Guard' to divert damages recieved to MP instead of HP. Magic Guard? time for some Magic skill Building ! AP = Always ~ LUK amount 5 points more than level INT to be added with all of the remaining AP *Com'on, you use Magic! Magic... You hooya don't need STR nor DEX!* Skill Build : Level 8: +1 Energy Bolt Level 9: +3 Improving MP Recovery Level 10: +2 Improving MP Recovery, +1 Improving Max MP Increase Level 11: +3 Improving Max MP Increase Level 12: +3 Improving Max MP Increase Level 13: +3 Improving Max MP Increase (MAX) Level 14: +3 Improving MP Recovery Level 15: +3 Improving MP Recovery Level 16: +3 Improving MP Recovery Level 17: +2 Improving MP Recovery (MAX), +1 Magic Claw Level 18: +3 Magic Claw Level 19: +3 Magic Claw Level 20: +3 Magic Claw Level 21: +3 Magic Claw Level 22: +3 Magic Claw Level 23: +3 Magic Claw Level 24: +1 Magic Claw (MAX), +2 Magic Guard Level 25: +3 Magic Guard Level 26: +3 Magic Guard Level 27: +3 Magic Guard Level 28: +3 Magic Guard Level 29: +3 Magic Guard Level 30: +3 Magic Guard (MAX) You are adding 'Magic Claw' as your main attack as it deals more than 'Energy Bolt'. As you are not really funded, Magic Claws are for laters as you might want to build up foundation on MP recovery first. ~~~~~~~~~ | Thief | ~~~~~~~~~ The class that can evade physical damage and move in great speed. The most supportive character in PQ as they dish out great attacks and gives a boost of speed when at 2nd advancement.Their equipments are more costly than other classes at mid and later levels as their equipments are less common. Bandits are like Warriors as they also goes in close combat but they are higher in ACC. Assassins uses throwing stars that can be recharged at towns. When an Assassin runs out of stars to attack, he can activate a skill called 'Dark Sight'. Which can evade physical attacks and useful when you run out of potions or in low health. Dark Sight? Then again...skill building time.... AP = Always ~ DEX twice of level The remaining AP on LUK *For STR Bandit ~ STR is 10 points lesser than your level DEX twice of level The remaining AP on LUK *STR? Maybe only for STR bandits but, STR and INT are not your fort* Skill Build for Assassin : Lv10: Lucky 7 (1) Lv11: Lucky 7 (4) Lv12: Lucky 7 (7) Lv13: Lucky 7 (10) Lv14: Nimble (3) Lv15: Keen Eyes (3) Lv16: Keen Eyes (6) Lv17: Keen Eyes (8), save Sp(+1) Lv18: save Sp(+4) Lv19: save Sp(+7) Lv20: Lucky 7 (20) Lv21: Nimble (6) Lv22: Nimble (9) Lv23: Nimble (12) Lv24: Nimble (15) Lv25: Nimble (18) Lv26: Nimble (20) Disorder (1) Lv27: Disorder (3) Dark Sight (1) Lv28: Dark Sight (4) Lv29: Dark Sight (7) Lv30: Dark Sight (10) Dark Sight is not nessecary for earlier levels.
